Four Serbian universities ranked in ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS)

ShanghaiRanking Consultancy has published the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) for 2018. This year, Serbian universities of Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš and Kragujevac were ranked among world’s best in different categories.

In the subject Food Science and Technology University of Belgrade is 43rd best university in the world and 20th in Europe. In the same subject, University of Novi Sad is among best 150 universities in the world.

University of Belgrade scored high in the subject Mining and Mineral Engineering (top 100) and also Chemical Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering (top 150). According to GRAS, the University located in the capital of Serbia is one of the top 200 places to study and do research in the field of Physics, Transportation Science and Technology, Dentistry and Oral Science and Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. University of Belgrade is ranked in 27 different subjects, some of which are Mathematics, Civil Engineering, Nano Sciences and Nanotechnology, Veterinary Sciences, Clinical Medicine, Agriculture, Biological Sciences, Education and Psychology.

Besides high rank in the subject Food Science and Food Technology, University of Novi Sad is among best 300 in Veterinary Science and among best 500 in Chemical Engineering. University of Niš ranked among best 500 universities for studying and reserch of Mathematics and Chemical Engineering. University of Kragujevac kept its position from 2017 as one of the top 500 universities in the subject of Mathematics, which means that three universities from Serbia ranked in this field.

What is Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS)?

The Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) is a branch of the international Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) published annually by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. GRAS is global sub-ranking of subjects and it assesses the score of more than 4,000 universities in 54 subjects.
